Tacos Tuxpeños are a traditional Mexican dish originating from Tuxpan, a city in the state of Veracruz. These tacos are distinctive for their rich and savory filling, typically made from a blend of chopped pork, chicken and/or beans seasoned with a unique mix of local spices and peppers. The filling mixture is cooked until tender and juicy, wrapped in freshly made corn tortillas. These tacos became a breakfast and lunchtime staple in the city of Colima, May & Edgar's hometown where today you can find street stands at every major street intersection where locals cand delight in their unique and delicious flavors.

Serving Suggestion: 

For the authentic Colima style garnish, add finely chopped onions, thinly sliced green cabbage, pickled carrots and our special tomatillo sauce.

In the vibrant atmosphere of their business school, best friends May and Edgar bonded over a shared spirit of adventure and a love for diverse flavors. Post-graduation, they embarked on a global journey with just $300, working various jobs to fund their pursuit of culinary and business inspirations. Despite a planned European and Middle Eastern exploration, life diverted them when May fell in love, leading to separate decades of adventures that enriched their lives with a myriad of flavors and experiences. However, a global pandemic and a chilling brush with death brought them back together, reinforcing their bond and appreciation for life and the simple, comforting tastes of home.

This profound experience inspired them to found Dos Amigos Foods, a company rooted in the authenticity and warmth of their hometown's culinary traditions.
